Gabie Strong's solo show at Angels Gate
Check out Gabie's solo show My War at Angels Gate Cultural Center
March 18 - April 20, 2012
MY WAR is a transdisciplinary research project investigating the influence of the Cold War on the built environment and social culture of Southern California, with outcomes rendered in photography, drawing and sound. Presented as a site-based installation to form a spatial dialectic of Pure War in the Southland, MY WAR diagrams the contemporary So Cal uncanny vis-à-vis a systematic portrayal of imperialist affect on the increasingly abject condition of the everyday.

Helga Fassonaki's solo art exhibition and performance series at Human Resources
Check out Helga Fassonaki's excellent solo exhibition Touching Them Touching Me – A
Love Song for the Dead C at Human Resources.
Helga Fassonaki
Touching Them Touching Me – A Love Song for the Dead C
March 24th – April 22nd
Human Resources
410 Cottage Home St
Chinatown, 90012
Helga has created an incredible installation featuring an imagined and studied site of the origins for the NZ post-punk band the Dead C, transforming the gallery itself into a discursive site of sound, smell, drink (and friendships made from noise).
Helga has additionally curated a three day performance series of epic sonic proportions titled Trapdoor Fucking Exit at the closing of her exhibition (April 20-22). You won't want to miss it!
Human Resources is pleased to present Touching Them Touching Me – A Love Song for the Dead C, a solo show by Helga Fassonaki from March 24th through April 22nd with an opening reception on March 24th from 7pm-10pm. The show closes the weekend of April 20th to the 22nd with Trapdoor Fucking Exit, a performance series, featuring the live performances by Fassonaki and other artists influenced by the legendary New Zealand underground rock band, the Dead C.
